Decision on 9th wage board after PM’s return

Staff Correspondent: The 9th wage board is being sent to the cabinet for its nod after finalising recommendations. Decision will be taken over the 9th board once she returns home from abroad.

Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader on Thursday told this to the reporters at the conference room of the Information Ministry in the Secretariat, after holding a meeting with the committee formed in this regard.

The Minister said, “We have finalised the report. But the cabinet will take final decision as it formed the committee. We made a realistic recommendation through discussing the matter with all stake holders.” 

“The recommendations will be discussed in the cabinet. After its final nod, it will be published as gazette notification. PM is expected to reach home on August 5, then cabinet will take the final decision over the matter,” Quader said. 

Information Minister said, “In the recommendations we suggested to make a media employment policy. So, there is no scope to be included in the 9th wage board separately. Media Employees Act is currently at vetting level in the Ministry of Law.
