Doctor Akash’s death: SC upholds Mitu’s bail

The Supreme Court upheld a High Court verdict that granted bail to Tanzila Haque Chowdhury Mitu in a case filed over the death of her husband doctor Mustafa Murshed Akash.  

Chamber Judge Justice Hasan Fayez Siddique of the Appellate Division, passed the order on Thursday.

Advocate AM Amin Uddin moved for Mitu while Deputy attorney general Jahid Sarwar Kajal stood for the state.

Earlier on August 28, the High Court (HC) granted permanent bail to Tanzila Haque Chowdhury Mitu in the case. Later, the state appealed against the bail petition. Tanzila Haque Chowdhury Mitu already has got released from jail following the HC bail order.

On January 31, Mustafa Murshed Akash, died allegedly by suicide at his residence in Chandgaon Residential Area in Chandgaon residential area of Chattogram. Akash wrote a suicide note accusing his wife Mitu.
