Doctor infected with coronavirus airlifted to Dhaka

An associate professor of Faridpur Medical College, who got infected with coronavirus, was airlifted to Dhaka on Monday.

A press release of the Inter Services Public Relation Directorate (ISPR) said in a press statement that Dr Shafiq Ur Rahman was brought to Dhaka by a helicopter of Bangladesh Air Force on emergency basis.

The BAF has been providing emergency air transport and medical evacuation (MEDEVAC) assistance in aid to civil power under Bangladesh Armed Forces, it said.

Dr Shafiq was admitted to Kuwait-Bangladesh Maitree Government Hospital in the capital.
