Dr Sabrina placed on two-day remand again

A Dhaka court has again placed JKG Health Care Chairman and cardiac surgeon of National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD) Dr Sabrina Arif Chowdhury on a two-day remand in a fraud case filed for allegedly issuing fake Covid-19 results and charging patients for the test.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Masud-ur Rahman passed the remand order after hearing in the case on Friday noon.

Earlier on 13, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Shahinur Rahman passed a three-day remand order in the case.

On July 12, a team of Tejgaon Division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested JKG Health Care Chairman Dr Sabrina Arif Chowdhury over her alleged involvement in issuing fake coronavirus results.

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of JKG Ariful Haque Chowdhury, also the husband of Dr Sabrina Chowdhury, has already been arrested over fraudulence in Covid-19 sample test and report delivery.
