Drug trader killed in Cox’s Bazar gunfight

A suspected drug trader has been killed in a reported gunfight with police in Teknaf upazila of Cox's Bazar.

The deceased was known as Mozaher Ahmed, son of Hakim Ali, hailed from Hariyakhali village.

Pradip Kumar Das, Officer-in-Charge (OC) said, the law enforcers conducted a drive in the area this morning. Meanwhile, sensing presence, drug smugglers opened fire aiming police which triggered the gunfight.

At one stage, police found a bullet-injured person in the area. Later, he was sent to Teknaf Health Complex where duty doctor declared him dead.
