Ershad responding to doctors, relatives

Senior Correspondent: The physical condition of Jatiya Party (JaPa) Chairman HM Ershad has remained unchanged, and he is responding to the doctors and relatives.

Acting Chairman of Jatiya Party and his brother GM Quader said this at a press conference on Tuesday.

HM Ershad is now undergoing treatment at Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Dhaka.

In responding to a question, GM Quader said “His lungs infections have eased but the kidney is in serious condition. His overall condition remains unchanged”.

Asked whether he will be put on life support, GM Quader said Ershad is not in such a bad condition for which he needs life support. But he was given oxygen support.

On June 27, Ershad was admitted to Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Dhaka. He was being treated there for several infections.

Over the last nine months, the former military ruler has been suffering from various health-related issues.
