Educational institutions to be shut down if necessary

Foreign Minister Dr A K Abdul Momen said the government is considering over the closure of educational institutions to prevent coronavirus infection.
He said, “The risk of coronavirus infection is low among children and the youth. So, we have not yet decided to shut down the schools.”
“But if it is necessary or we get any indication, we will shut down the schools. We are conducting continuous monitoring in this regard,” he added.
The Minister said this while talking to reporters after attending a seminar at BIISS Auditorium in Dhaka on Sunday noon.
“Our main goal is to protect our people. We cannot let our 16 crore people become sick because of a few persons,” he said.
“We have already blocked the entry of Indian citizens,” he added.
The Minister said, “So far, five people, all of them are expatriates, have been infected with coronavirus. The good news is that three of them recovered and the two others are taking treatment.”
The government has decided to suspend inbound flight operations from the countries where coronavirus has spread extensively, he added.
