Expelled Jubo League leader Khaled put on remand

Expelled Jubo League leader and casino businessman Khaled Mahmud Bhuiyan has put on a three-day remand in a money laundering case.

Metropolitan Magistrate Md Ziaur Rahman in a virtual court passed the order through videoconferencing on Tuesday.

The metropolitan magistrate passed the order in the absence of Khalid at the courtroom after CID Sub-Inspector Rashedur Rahman, also the investigation officer of the case, sought a 10-day remand for him.

Earlier in the day, Khaled was virtually shown arrested in the case.

On June 7 in 2019, CID Inspector Mohammad Ibrahim filed the case with Motijheel Police Station against Khaled for laundering money to Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand.

Other accused in the case are Ayub Rahman, Abu Yunus alias Abu Haider, Din Mojumder and some other unknown persons.
