Fence of barbed wire, watch tower for Rohingya surveillance

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said fence of barbed wire, Closed Circuit (CC) cameras and watch tower are being installed along the Rohingya camps to keep them under surveillance.

He said this while speaking at a function organised to celebrate the 25^th founding anniversary (silver jubilee) of Bangladesh Coast Guard at its head office in the capital’s Agargaon on Saturday noon.

“All members of law enforcement agencies are working to keep Rohingyas under observation. Upon the directive of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, a decision was taken to build a fence of barbed wire along the Rohingya camps. Besides, CC cameras and watch tower will be installed to intensify the surveillance,” Asaduzzaman said.
