Munshiganj Correspondent: Ferry service on Shimulia-Kathalbari route in the Padma River resumed after 20 hours of disruption caused by inclement weather.
Nasir Mohammad Chowdhury, deputy general manager of Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) at Aricha confirmed the matter.
He said, the authorities suspended the ferry services on the route on Wednesday due to inclement weather and heavy current in the river. Following the ferry service disruption, over one thousands of vehicles remained stuck in a long queue at Shimulia ghat.
Mawa traffic police in-charge (TI) Helal Uddin said, passengers are suffering a lot due the ferry service disruption.
