Ferry services on Shimulia-Kathalbari suspended

The ferry service on Shimulia-Kathalbari route has been suspended due to heavy current in Padma River.

Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA) Shimulia Ghat Deputy General Manager Md Shafiqul Islam confirmed the matter on Friday (July 17).

He said the ferry service was declared shut around 9:00am. The ferry service will remain suspended until the water current becomes normal.

On the other hand, due to the suspension of ferry movement on the route, severe congestion of vehicles has already been created at the ghat area.
