Fire at Gazipur paper godown

Staff Correspondent, Gazipur:  A fire broke out at a paper and carton godown in Ambagh area of Konabari under Gazipur City Corporation on Wednesday midnight.

Md Jakaria Khan, officer of Joydevpur Fire Service Station, said the fire broke out at the old godown at 1:45am. On information, three fire-fighting units rushed to the spot and doused the blaze within two and half hour.

The fire might have originated from cigarette and the loss may be Tk 20 lakh, he said.
