Fire at Rampura power sub-station

A fire broke out at the sub-station of power on Wapda Road at Rampura in the capital on Saturday afternoon.

The blaze originated from an explosion in a transformer inside the power station around 3:45 pm.

On information, seven units of the fire fighters rushed to the spot to douse the flame.

Locals said several transformers were also bursted following the explosion inside the power station that led to power outage in the adjacent areas.

Russell Shikder, duty officer of the fire service headquarters, confirmed the matter.
