First shipment of onion to arrive Tuesday

Commerce ministry secretary Dr Md Jafar Uddin said that the first shipment of onion will arrive in the country through cargo aircraft on Tuesday.

Jafar Uddin came up with the assertion while addressing reporters at the conference room of commerce ministry on Monday.

In the written speech, he said, the first shipment of the onion which is being imported by S Alam Group, will arrive in Bangladesh through cargo aircraft.

The onion market would be normal soon following the various kinds of steps by the government, he added.

Meanwhile, the secretary denied to reply any query of the reporters. He left the conference room after reading out the written speech.
