Form squad to curb ragging in edu institutions: HC

The High Court (HC) has directed the authorities concerned to form an anti-ragging squad and a committee in this regard in order to prevent ragging culture in all educational institutions of the country specially in the universities.

The court also asked the authorities to implement the order within next three months.

At the same time, the court issued a rule asking the authorities to explain why the inaction of defendants to protect the students from ragging should not be declared illegal.

An HC bench of Justice M Enayetur Rahim and Justice Md Mostafizur Rahman came up with the order following a writ petition filed by supreme court lawyer Advocate Ishrat Hasan.
