Frustration leads woman to kill her 2 children

Police recovered the throat-slit bodies of two girls and rescued their mother with severe burn injuries from a house in Dakshin Goran area in the capital’s Khigaon on Saturday morning.

The deceased were identified as Mehjabin, fourth-grade student of National Ideal School and College and Jannatul, student of class-1.

The woman committed the horrific crime as a sequel to the conjugal dispute with her husband.

Additional Commissioner (crime and apps) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Krishnapad Rai told this to the reporters at the spot on Saturday noon.

He said, “Frustration from conjugal dispute with her husband led the woman to kill her two children.”

According to relatives and neighbours of the deceased, deceased’s father Mozammel Haque Biplob locked into extra marital affairs. He also demanded dowry from his wife Akhtarunnesa Popy. For this, they both often locked into dispute. On Friday night, Biplob demanded Tk 10 lakh. Otherwise, he threatened to get another marriage and snatched the two children from Popy. As sequel to that Popy slit two of her children to death and attempted to commit suicide by setting fire on her body. Be she rescued with seriously burn injuries.
