GK Shamim handed over to police

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has handed over Golam Kibria Shamim alias GK Shamim, who was arrested from the capital’s Niekton, to police.

Earlier, RAB filed three cases against him under arms, narcotics control and money laundering acts.

RAB director (Legal & Media Wing) Lt Col Sarwar Bin Kashem confirmed the news on Saturday noon.

He said, “GK Shamim was handed over to police after being sued on specific charges.

RAB arrested GK Shamim from his Niketon office in Gulshan along with his seven bodyguards on Friday. Allegations of extortion, tender and illegal casino business were found against him.

Law enforcers also recovered drugs and arms while he had been arrested. RAB also seized huge amount of cash money and Fixed Deposit Receipts (FDRs).
