GK Shamim placed on 9-day fresh remand

A Dhaka court has placed Jubo League leader Golam Kibria Shamim on a 9-day fresh remand in connection with money laundering and fire arms cases.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mohammad Jasim passed the order after hearing on Tuesday.

Earlier, investigation officer, Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police Abu Sayeed of Criminal Investigation Department produced him before the court seeking 10 days remand in money laundering case.

Besides, RAB-1 Sub-Inspector Shekhar Chandra Mallik sought seven days remand in fire arms case against GK Shamim.

On September 20, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) personnel arrested Shamim from his Gulshan office. His seven bodyguards were also arrested at the time. Later, three cases were filed against him.

On September 21, a Dhaka court placed him on a 10-day remand in two cases. Seven of his bodyguards also detained were also put on separate 4-days remands.
