GPA-5 achievers increase

The number of GPA-5 achievers in this year’s Junior School Certificate (JSC) and Junior Dakhil Certificate (JDC) examinations has increased from the previous year’s results.

At a press briefing at her ministry office on Tuesday noon, Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni said 87.90 per cent students have passed JSC-JDC exams this year which was 85.83 per cent last year, showing 2.07 per cent higher from the previous year.

As many as 78,429 students have achieved GPA-5, which was 68,095 last year, she said.

A total of 5243 educational institutions have achieved 100 percent pass rate in this year’s examinations.
 
This year, 76,747 students under all general education boards achieved GPA 5. Last year, the number of students with GPA 5 was 66,108.

Meanwhile, students who gave the exams under the madrasa education boards fared worse than last year in achieving GPA 5.
