Gazipur fire: Death toll rises to six

Staff Correspondent: The death toll from a shocking blaze that ripped through an auto-spinning mill warehouse in Gazipur has climbed to six.

The deceased were identified as Anwar Hossain, 28, son of Joynal, hailed from Dakshin Dhanua area of Sreepur upazila, Shahjalal, 28, son of Hasan Ali, Selim Kabir, 40, son of late Shamsul Haque, Sujan Sardar, son of Keramat Sardar, Abu Abir Raihan, son of Abul Kashem and Rasel Mia, 45, son of Alal Uddin.

Lima Khan, duty officer of Dhaka fire service control room said, five more bodies were recovered this morning.

District administration formed a six-member probe committee in this regard.

Earlier on Tuesday, the fire originated at an auto spinning mill in Sreepur around 2:30pm. Later, 18 fire units brought the blaze under control after 12 hours efforts.
