Global death toll from coronavirus rises to 3,828

The global death toll from novel coronavirus (COVID-19) has risen to 3,828 and the number of people infected with the fast-spreading virus now stands at 110,056 worldwide.
The lethal virus has already spread to 109 countries and territories across the world.
Around 62,276 coronavirus infected people have so far recovered after receiving treatment suggested for the virus and been discharged from hospitals.
Forty new cases of coronavirus and 22 deaths were reported in mainland China on Sunday, according to China’s National Health Commission.
Since the virus was first identified in the Chinese city of Wuhan late last year, the death toll across mainland China has risen to 3,119, with 3,007 deaths in Hubei, of which Wuhan is the provincial capital. The total number of confirmed cases in mainland China now stands at 80,735.
Outside China, Italy's total known number of COVID-19 cases crept past that of South Korea, becoming the country with the second-highest number of infections Sunday after China.
Italian government authorities say the country now has 7,375 cases. That is 62 more than South Korea. So far, 366 people have died from coronavirus in Italy.
In South Korea, the death toll from coronavirus has risen to 51. The virus has already infected over 7,382 in the country.
Iran reported a total number of 6,566 coronavirus cases among of them 194 have already died.
Among the countries affected by the virus, France reported 19 deaths, Japan seven, Spain 17, the United States 22, Switzerland two, the United Kingdom 3, Netherlands 3, Hong Kong 3, Australia 3 and Iraq 6. On the other hand, Egypt, Thailand, Taiwan, San Marino, Argentina and Philippines reported one death each.
Late last year, the outbreak of coronavirus began in the Chinese city of Wuhan.
