Staff Correspondent: Joynal Abedin Faruk, adviser to BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, said the government has no authority to bring back to country the party’s senior vice chairman Tarique Rahman who is now in London.
The BNP leader came up with the comment while addressing a protest rally in front of the National Press Council in the capital on Tuesday.
Jatiyotabadi Juba Dal (Nationalist Youth Party) organised the rally in protest against forced appearance, murder and rape.
Pointing to ruling Awami League government, Faruk said, “You (government) have no authority to bring Tarique Rahman back to country and can never be able to do that. It is the only phrase that you often use while delivering speech.”
He alleged that Tarique Rahman has been given imprisonment in a false and illogical case.
