‘Govt to be strict in case of hindrance’

Staff Correspondent: Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Mayor Atiqul Islam has warned that the government will be strict if any hindrance is found in mosquito destruction programme.

He said, “Institutional power of city corporation will be increased in eliminating Aedes mosquito larvae to control dengue. But till now our challenges are barrier and public unconsciousness.”

The Mayor said this attending Aedes mosquito larvae elimination programme at Nurjahan Road in the capital’s Mohammadpur on Monday.

Atiqul Islam said, “General people should be more conscious. They have to keep their own compounds or premises clean. Then, Aedes mosquito will be eliminated.”
