Govt waives taxes on corona kits, other materials

The National Board of Revenue (NBR) has announced to waive all kinds of taxes on test kit, surgical mask and diagnostic test materials in a bid to prevent coronavirus outbreak, according to a notification.

The NBR, in a gazette notification today, said the decision was taken to combat the coronavirus epidemic and will be effective from March 22 to June 30.

The items are: Isopropyl Alcohol, Covid-19 test kits, Covid-19 diagnostic test instruments and apparatus, 3-layer surgical mask, protective garments made from plastic sheeting, plastic face shields, protective garment for surgical or medical use, medical protective gear, protective spectacles and goggles.
