Grameenphone finally paid Tk1,000cr to BTRC

The private mobile phone operator Grameenphone (GP) has paid Tk1,000 crore to the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC).

Officials of the mobile phone operator handed over to BTRC Chairman around 3:30pm on Sunday.

Earlier on Friday, in a press release said that Grameenphone respect the judiciary system in Bangladesh.

Complying with the Supreme Court's direction, Grameenphone expects that "business operations will run without further obstacles and allow us to best serve our customers," it concluded.

On February 24, the Appellate Division ordered Grameenphone to pay Tk1,000 crore to BTRC by Monday.
