HC issues rules on expulsion of PEC examinee

The High Court (HC) has issued a rule asking the authority concerned to explain why the expulsion of examinees of the Primary Education Completion (PEC) examinations should not be illegal.

The HC division bench comprising Justice M Enayetur Rahim and Justice Md Mostafizur Rahman passed the order on Thursday.

Four officials, including Primary and Mass Education Secretary and Director General of Directorate of Primary Education, were asked to submit their explanations on December 10.

The court also asked the authority concerned why paragraph number 11 of the guidelines on PEC and Ebtedayee examinations issued by the Primary Education Directorate on December 18, 2018, should not be declared illegal.  

Supreme Court Advocate Jamiul Haque Faisal placed the issue before the court when a national daily made a report in this regard on November 19.
