HC orders to release children convicted by mobile courts

The High Court (HC) has ordered the authorities concerned to immediately release the children convicted by the mobile courts on various times and kept in the Children Development Centre.

The court has ordered to immediately release the children under 12 years and granted six month bail to children aged between twelve to eighteen years.

A HC bench headed by Justice Sheikh Hassan Arif came up with the order Thursday on a Suo moto (voluntary) move following a news report published in a newspaper.

Barrister Md Abdul Halim and Advocate Ishrat Hasan placed the newspaper report before the High Court bench for necessary orders.
