HC refuses to interfere into Minni’s remand

Staff Correspondent: The High Court (HC) did not respond to a prayer for cancelling the remand of Aysha Siddika Minni who was shown arrested in a case filed over the sensational murder of her husband Rifat Sharif in Barguna.

The court said, “It will not interfere into the issue of taking Minni on a remand as the investigation is going on into the case. But there is an opportunity to file an appeal with the lower court.”

The HC bench of Justice FRM Nazmul Ahasan and Justice KM Kamrul Kader came up with the statements on Thursday.

Supreme Court lawyer Advocate Faruk Hossain today sent some new paper reports on the Barguna court order that placed Minni on a five-day remand in the murder case.

The SC lawyer told the court that Minni is the prime witness of the case but police arrested her as an accused of the case.

Police are yet to take any major step for arresting the five accused named in the murder case, he also told the court.
