HC withdraws order keeping vacant post of Enamul Basir

Staff Correspondent: The High Court (HC) has withdrawn its order that asked the authorities concerned to keep vacant the post of director general set for promoting Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Director Khandaker Enamul Basir who was suspended for his alleged involvement in bribe transaction.

As a result of this order, there is no bar for the anti-graft watchdog to recruit someone for its director general post or to promote someone to the post.

An HC bench headed by Justice Md Ashfaqul Islam passed the order on Thursday following a petition filed by the ACC.

Advocate Khurshid Alam Khan represented the ACC in the court.

Earlier on January 29, the court issued an order to keep vacant the post of ACC’s director general for Enamul Basir following a writ petition.

The court also issued a rule in this regard.
