‘Hawa Bhaban breeding ground of casino’

Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader opined that Hawa Bhaban is breeding ground of casino in the country.

The Awami League general secretary made the opinion while inaugurating a construction project of underpass in Shooting Club point in Savar Cantonment on Wednesday.

He said that casino business had been started from Hawa Bhaban in Bangladesh. So, Mr. Fakhrul has to reply this question first. Bangabandhu banned liquor and gambling but, BNP government launched those later.

In reply to a question regarding ongoing drive against casino, he said, the drive will not remain restricted in Dhaka only. It will continue everywhere in the country.

State Minister for Disaster Management and Relief Enamur Rahman, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of 9th Infantry Division and Area Commander (Savar) Major General Akbar Hossain, Engineer-in-Chief Major General Ibne Fazal Shayekhuzzaman, Acting director general colonel SM Anwar Hossain of 24 Engineer Construction Brigade, Savar Upazila Chairman Manjurul Alam Razib and others attended the function.
