Home Minister hits to loosen Road Transport Act

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal has hinted to loosen the new Road Transport Act.

The Minister said this after a long meeting of taskforce committee at the ministry’s conference room on Sunday afternoon.

He said problems are being created in implementing the new road transport act due to weakness of Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA).  As a result, implementation of the law is being loosen in some cases.

“Four sub-committees have been formed led by four secretaries in implementing the Road Transport Act including to prepare action plan. The committees will submit report with action plan and recommendations in next two months. The reports will be present in the next taskforce committee meeting. Later, decision will be taken after discussion in this regard,” he added.
