Home Minister pays respects to martyred police members

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal has paid tributes to the brave police members who valiantly fought for the independence of Bangladesh.

The minister placed wreaths at Dhaka's Rajarbagh Police Lines on Monday morning marking the country’s 49th Victory Day.

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr Mohammad Javed Patwary and other senior police officials were also present.

Everyone present stood silently remembering the martyred police members while the bugle played.

After that, the Bangladesh Police Service Association, Dhaka Metropolitan Police, and Bangladesh Police Women Network also placed their wreaths paying their respects to the martyrs.

Police formed the first armed resistance against the Pakistan forces on March 25, 1971 during the attack on the Rajarbagh Police Lines.
