‘Home Ministry has no jurisdiction to release Khaleda’

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal has said BNP Chairperson can get release only through legal process. Home Ministry has no jurisdiction to release her without court’s order.

The Minister came up with the observation after inaugurating Hajj booth at the capital’s Agargaon passport office on Monday.

He said, “The government has nothing to do beyond the law. The application for temporary release of Khaleda Zia has been sent to the Ministry of Law. The law ministry will take necessary steps in this regard.”
