Housewife confesses to domestic help murder

Housewife Roksana Pervin, who was arrested for allegedly torturing a 12-year-old domestic help to death in city’s Mohammadpur area, has given statement confessing to the murder.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Ziaur Rahman recorded the statement on Friday.

Earlier, Mohammadpur Police Station Inspector Abdul Alim, also Investigation Officer (IO) of the case, produced her before the court after she agreed to give confessional statement.

The 12-year-jold victim, Jannati, daughter of Janu Mollah of Bogura’s Gabtoli, had been working at the house of Sayeed Ahmed, an engineer of Water Development Board (PWD), for the last three years.

On Tuesday last, Janu Mollah was informed that his daughter was ill. He rushed to Dhaka and four her dead.

Later, he filed a case with Mohammadpur Police Station as he found injury marks on Jannanti’s body.
