HujI leader who met Laden arrested in Dhaka

Detectives have arrested a top leader of the banned militant outfit Harkat-ul Jihad al-Islami (HuJI) and two others in Dhaka.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) media wing on Thursday said that detectives conducted a drive in a mosque in Nikunja area in the capital on Wednesday night and arrested Julfikar, Borhan Uddin and Mohammad Nazim Uddin alias Shamim.
Detectives said, Julfikar was appointed as organizing secretary of HuJi in 1996. Later, he got responsibility of Huji’s foreign wing. He also had met then Al-Qaeda chief Osama Bin Laden.
Julfikar returned Bangladesh this year and started several types of activities to reform HuJi. That’s why he travelled various parts of the country.
Details will be disclosed after grilling the three arrestees, said DMP.
