IEDCR confirms first coronavirus death in Bangladesh

Bangladesh has recorded its first death from coronavirus, which has killed over 8,225 people from across the world in a global pandemic.

In a press conference, Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR) Director Dr Meerjady Sabrina Flora on Wednesday (March 18) said a 70-year-old patient died due to coronavirus infection.  

Besides, four more persons were diagnosed with COVID-19 in the country in last 24 hours pushing the number of coronavirus cases to 14.

Funeral of the coronavirus victim will be done under the care of IEDCR, she added.
