India declare first innings on 347-9 in Kolkata test

India declared their first innings on 347-9, a lead of 241 runs, on day 2 of the second and final test against Bangladesh at Kolkata's Eden Gardens on Saturday.

Skipper Virat Kohli top-scored for the hosts with 136, while Cheteshwar Pujara (55) and Ajinkya Rahane (51) hit half-centuries.

Bangladesh came up with a good spell of bowling with the second new ball, as India lost a flurry of wickets, but it was little consolation when India captain declared.

They were 9 down. Virat Kohli signalled his batsmen to head back to the hut just when Al Amin was bout to complete the 90th over.

Skiper Virat Kohli scored his 27th Test century.

Bangladesh have it all to do under the lights, with their best batsman in the first innings - Liton Das- having been substituted after being hit on the helmet by Mohammed Shami in the first innings.
