Iskcon Temple locked down as 36 infected with corona

Police placed Iskcon Temple in Dhaka's Swamibagh under lockdown following the directives from the IEDCR as 36 people at the temple tested positive for coronavirus or COVID-19.

Saju Miah, officer-in-charge (OC) of Gendaria Police Station, confirmed this to risingbd.

The infected persons are in isolation inside the temple, the OC said.

Shah Iftekharul Islam, deputy commissioner of Wari Division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), also confirmed the matter.

He said the temple authorities had all the 36 tested for coronavirus when they started showing symptoms such as cold and cough. All of them tested for coronavirus positive initially. Second test on them will be carried out on Monday (April 27).
