Jamuna Group Chairman Babul dies of coronavirus

Jamuna Group Chairman Nurul Islam Babul has died of coronavirus. He was 74.

He breathed his last at the Evercare hospital (former Apollo Hospital) in the capital on Monday.

He left behind his wife, a son, three daughters and a host of well-wishers to mourn his death.

It was learnt that Babul was detected with coronavirus positive on June 14. On the day, he was admitted to the hospital. Covid-19 damaged his kidney functions. A 10-member medical team was formed for his treatment at the Evercare Hospital.

Besides, four expert physicians of China and two of Singapore’s Mount Elezabeth Hospital gave advice for his treatment though teleconference.

Jamuna Group, established in 1974, is one of the largest Bangladeshi industrial conglomerates. The industries under the conglomerate include textiles, chemicals, leather, motorcycles, consumer products, media, and advertisement.
