Japan to provide 70 lakh masks to Bangladesh

Health and Family Welfare Minister Jahid Malek said, Japan will provide 70 lakh masks to Bangladesh free at cost.

The minister made the disclosure while addressing a press conference centering coronavirus prevention at the conference room of health ministry on Thursday.

In reply to a query, he said, Japan government assured Bangladesh that the masks will be provided soon. The crisis of masks in local market will be reduced then.

He also said, “All people of the country don’t need to use masks. Only those who are suffering from cold, coughing and fever can use mask.”

“There is no coronavirus infected person in the country right now. The health sector of the country is fully alert in this regard,” he added.
