Journalist gone missing in old Dhaka

Shafiqul Islam Kajol, editor of the Daily Pokkhokal, has gone missing from Wednesday morning after a lawmaker from ruling Awami League filed a case against him and 31 other persons under Digital Security Act 2018.

Officer-in-charge of Chawkbazar Model Police Station Maudud Hawlader confirmed the news on Thursday morning.

He said “We do not know about any case against him but it is now our responsibility to find out him”.

Julia Ferdousi, wife of the journalist, filed a GD with the police station on Wednesday afternoon.

She alleged that they have been failing to establish any type of contact with Kajol from Wednesday after he left their home in the capital’s Bakshibazar area in the morning.
