Journalist Ariful sent to hospital

Kurigram journalist Ariful Islam Rigan has been sent to hospital after the district court order granted bail to him.

Additional District Magistrate Mohammad Sujauddaula granted him bail around 11:30am. Later, he was admitted to Kurigram General Hospital for treatment.

Public prosecutor SM Abraham Lincon, Advocate Ahsan Habib Nilu and Advocate Sakhawat Hossain moved for the petitioner during bail hearing.

Earlier on Friday, a group of law enforcers entered their home at Charuapara around midnight and took away him forcefully.

Later, a mobile court sentenced Ariful Islam, a district correspondent of an online news portal to one year in jail for possession of liquor and hemp.
