Dhaka, Dec 13 (risingbd24.com): The government on Thursday appointed Justice ATM Fazle Kabir as the chairman of the International Crimes Tribunal-1 while Justice Obaidul Hasan as the chief of ICT-2.
Justice Fazle Kabir was leading the ICT-2, which was formed in March to speed up the war crimes trial.
Justice Md Mojibur Rahman Miah, an additional judge of the High Court, will replace Obaidul Hasan, a senior member of ICT-2.
The government brought the changes following the resignation of ICT-1 Chairman Justice Md Nizamul Huq, a high official confirmed the Daily Star.
The Ministry of Law on Thursday issued a gazette notification on the appointments, the official said.
Justice Nizamul Huq resigned Tuesday amid controversy over the leak of a conversation with a Bangladeshi expatriate legal expert about the war crimes trial proceedings.
