Khokon urged club owners to stop casinos

Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Mayor Sayeed Khokon said that he knew about the casinos and gambling in his areas. He also urged the club owners to stop those.

The mayor made the assertion while addressing newsmen after a meeting with Denmark ambassador Winnie Estrup Petersen at Nagar Bhaban on Monday.

He said, “According to the direction of Prime Minister, the ongoing rectification drive will continue to stop illegal casinos. The countrymen have supported the drive. I think the drive will end successfully.”

In reply to a question regarding the involvement with illegal casino business of a councilor, he said, “I had sent letter to ministry of local administration two months ago to take action against the irresponsible activities of that councilor but did not get any response.”
