Earlier, the court accepted the case statement submitted by Sub-Inspector (SI) Shaidul Islam of Keraniganj Police Station.

The accused were known as MV Moyur-2 owner Mosaddek Hanif Soyad, 33, Master Abul Bashar Mollah, 65, Zakir Hossain, 39, Engine driver Shipon Hawlader, 45, driver shakil Hossain, 28, Sukani Nasir Mridha, 40, ans Sukani Hridoy, 24.

At least 33 people drowned as a novice was allegedly at the helm of Moyur-2 when the vessel slammed into a smaller launch -- Morning Bird -- causing it to sink in the Buriganga at the capital's Shyambazar on Monday.
