Legal steps to be taken against Priya Saha: DMP Commissioner

Staff Correspondent: Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Asaduzzaman Mia said that Priya Saha’s allegation to US President Donald Trump is totally false and baseless. The Home Ministry has already started legal procedures in this regard. Legal steps would be taken against her.

In reply to a query, DMP Commissioner came up with the statement in a debate programme at Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC) in the capital on Saturday.

The parliamentary debate competition was organized by Debate for Democracy.

Asaduzzaman Mia said, “Foreign Affairs Ministry is contacting to protest Priya’s allegation. Legal steps will be taken after scrutinizing her speech, evidences and investigation into the matter.”

He said, “We always ensure all kinds of securities for different rituals of Hidu religion. We always remain alert so that nobody can carry out attack and torture them.”

“I can say with challenges that no incident of snatching away land of minority people happened in Bangladesh,” he added.
