Lohani’s death irreparable loss to cultural field: President

President Abul Hamid has expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death of Ekushey award winning journalist, noted cultural personality and veteran freedom fighter Kamal Lohani.

In a message of condolence on Saturday, the President said “The demise of Kamal Lohanihas been an irreparable loss to country’s cultural field”.

“Besides practice of journalism and cultural activities, Kamal Lohani participated in Language Movement and Liberation War”, he said.

He prayed for the salvation of the departed soul and conveyed sympathy to the bereaved family.

Kamal Lohani died on Saturday morning while undergoing treatment at the ICU of Sheikh Russel Gastro Liver Institute and Hospital in the capital.
