Lost the two same day who were always with me: PM

“I had to face obstacles step by step after returning to the country. I have got those all the time beside me, I lost two of them on the same day,” Prime Sheikh Hasina said this while speaking in the Parliament session on Sunday.

The premier was speaking in Parliament taking part in the condolence motion on former minister and ruling Awami League presidium member Mohammad Nasim.

She also expressed deep shock at the death of State Minister for Religious Affairs Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah.

Sheikh Hasina said, “Mohammad Nasim had suffered a heart attack while in prison during 1/11. At that time, an ambulance was always kept at the jail gate for Salman F Rahman, who was also confined, by his family. Then, Mohammad Nasim had survived as he was taken to hospital by the ambulance.”

She said, “The coronavirus has created such an unusual situation that if some one of our party dies, I will run to his family and console them, but I’m not getting that chance.”

PM said, “The worst-hit areas by coronavirus will be put under lockdown in aiming to check its further spread.”

“This fear has clutched the whole world. The government is trying its best to fight the pandemic. We all need to be aware of it,” she added.

Deputy leader of the Opposition GM Quader, Begum Matia Chowdhury, Kazi Firoze Rashid, Mrinal Kanti Das and M Habibe Millat also took part in the condolence motion.
