Mamun-Turjo in DB custody

Al Mamun, general secretary of a faction of Muktijuddha Mancha, and Yeasir Arafat Turjo, general secretary of its Dhaka University unit, have been held over the attack on Vice President (VP) of Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) Nurul Haque Nur and his supporters.

They were in custody of Detective Branch (DB) till the report was filed on Monday afternoon.

Abdul Baten, additional commissioner (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), told risingbd that they would be shown arrested over the attack on VP Nur.

Filing a case in this connection with Shahbag Police Station was under process till the report was published, he added.

In reply to a query, he said, “They were found involved in the attack in Close Circuit (CC) camera footages. Details would be revealed after further investigation.”

Nur and some of his supporters were injured in the attack carried out by activists of a faction of Muktijuddho Moncho on Sunday.
