Maritime ports asked to hoist cautionary signal 3

Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) asked the maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra to hoist local cautionary signal No 3 as an excess of variations in air pressure under the influence of active monsoon air is persisting over North Bay and adjoining areas.

In a warning message issued on Monday (July 6) morning, the BMD said under the influence of the active monsoon air, squally weather may affect the maritime ports, North Bay and adjoining coastal areas of Bangladesh.

It advised all fishing boats and trawlers over North Bay to remain close to the coast and proceed with caution until further notice.
